Driver racks up third DWI charge in Wake County wreck
The state Highway Patrol arrested a man Saturday night after troopers said he crossed the center line and sent an SUV flying through a wooded area and coming to rest in a field near Wake Forest.

Benito Chavez-Campos, 32, who was driving a Jeep, was charged with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked and driving left of center. He was being held in the Wake County jail Sunday.
Police said Campos' license was revoked because he has two pending DWI charges in Wilson. If he is convicted, his DWI charge in this case could be upgraded to a felony.
Police said Campos crossed the center line while he was driving south on N.C. Highway 96 in Wake County, half a mile from N.C. Highway 98 around 9:45 p.m. The driver of a black Lincoln Navigator, Juan Manuel Montalvo Marcuez, swerved left to avoid being hit by the Jeep, struck a ditch, went straight through a tree line and landed in a field.
When officers arrived on scene, the Navigator was empty. Marcuez was found a short time later crawling toward N.C. Highway 96. Police said he could not remember if there were any other passengers in his vehicle.
Marcuez was taken to WakeMed, but his condition was not released.
