— A man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Henderson late Sunday, troopers said.

Investigators say Robert Lee Adkins, 47, of 21 Begonia Lane, died when his SUV went too fast around a curve on Brookston Road, and hit a ditch. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.

Troopers said alcohol and speed were factors in the wreck.

Adkins was the only person in the vehicle.

Seat belts are installed in vehicles for a reason. Please use them. They saved my life eleven years ago. ALSO The Feds have determined that a locked vehicle door is seven time more likely to remaine closed, in a severe crash, than a unlocked door.
