Driver hurt in crash with school bus in Sanford

— A driver was hurt Monday morning in a crash with a school bus at the intersection of Wintergreen and Cool Springs roads in Sanford, police said.

The driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital, Sanford police said.

The bus driver and 10 students aboard were not hurt, according to a spokeswoman with Lee County Schools. The bus was heading to Tramway Elementary School when the wreck happened about 7:30 a.m.

The spokeswoman said students were picked up by another bus and taken to school, and parents were notified.
