FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A driver who rear-ended a stopped school bus in Fayetteville Friday afternoon ran from the crash and is wanted by police.

Stanley Darrel McDougald, 23, of 3499 Sanderosa Road faces charges of hit and run, driving with a revoked license and failure to reduce speed.

Fayetteville police said the bus, carrying students from Cape Fear High School, had stopped on Deep Creek Road and had the stop arm deployed and lights flashing to indicate that students were disembarking when McDougald's blue Saturn SUV hit the back of the bus. He jumped from the SUV and ran.

Police said the bus driver and one student on board reported minor injuries and were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. A parent of another student took that student to the hospital.
