Driver Faces DWI in Rollover Crash

Posted Updated

GARNER, N.C. — State troopers have charged Roy Lee Durham III, 20, of Fuquay-Varina, with driving while impaired in connection with a rollover crash Thursday night that seriously injured a passenger in Durham's car.

The Highway Patrol said Antonio Bines, 25, whose home town was not available, was not wearing a seat belt when Durham's car went out of control on Cotten Road and flipped over three times about 8:30 p.m. The crash happened near Fanny Brown Road.

Durham was also charged with careless and reckless driving, troopers said, and they said speed was part of the reason for the crash.

Bines and Durham were both taken to WakeMed. Troopers said Durham's injuries were less severe.
