Driver ejected after rollover crash during race in Buckeye

A driver was ejected from his vehicle after a rollover crash caused by a street race in Buckeye Tuesday.

BUCKEYE, AZ — A driver was ejected from his vehicle after a rollover crash caused by a street race in Buckeye Tuesday.

According to Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, a Chevy Tahoe and a Chevy Suburban were racing on Maricopa County 85 when they touched causing the Suburban to crash into a third vehicle and rollover.

The driver of the Suburban was ejected from the vehicle and was transported with life-threatening injuries.

No one else was injured in the crash including three kids in the third vehicle.

M.C. 85 was closed between 119th Avenue and Avondale Boulevard for several hours while deputies investigated the collision.
