Driver dies in wreck on Knightdale Bypass

Raleigh, N.C. — A Raleigh man died early Saturday in a wreck in east Raleigh.
Silvestre Marban Betancourt, 31, was westbound on the Knightdale Bypass (U.S. Highway 64) headed toward Interstate 440 when he overcompensated coming around a bend in the road.
According to the wreck report, Betancourt's car flipped and skidded on its roof for more than 150 feet, and he was thrown from the vehicle.
Police suspect that Betancourt was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash, and results of a blood test are pending.
