SELMA, N.C. — A three-vehicle wreck on N.C. Highway 42 Saturday night killed a driver and left a 13-year-old girl in critical condition, state troopers said.

A Mazda, Lincoln Town Car and pick-up truck were involved in the wreck at 8591 N.C. 42, in front of Mary Atkinson Girl Scout Camp, around 10:40 p.m., troopers said.

The driver of the Mazda, whose identity has not been released, died.

Three of the four occupants of the Lincoln Town Car – a mother, father and 13-year-old and 19-year-old daughters – were injured. Troopers said the 13-year-old girl was hospitalized at WakeMed in Raleigh early Monday. The other two injured families members were treated and released.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Troopers have not released more details about the wreck and continue to investigate.
