As an I witness, let me tell you that Accord looked GIGANTIC. I told my wife, who also saw it, that I thought it was a big Cadillac. Got home, saw the story and was corrected. Sense fuzzed by pouring rain and adrenaline rush. First thought it was a domestic situation because right after the first car got hit, a woman came runnign form the other side of the lot yelling, "No, no! That's my car!" Then, when she got close, the driver appear to drive straight at her like a deranged significant other. Clearly the driver was trying to get away. The axle broke with her first impact out by the entrance, right fron tire all but fallen off. What is so weird is how she kept it going. Accords are FWD. The left front tire must still have had connection to the transmission. Surreal experience.

Luckily the cars today are lighter and usually are unibody constructed, otherwise, if not for the tree, her car might have wound up in the Meat Department rather than outside the store.

Don't they usually release the blood alcohol levels? Interesting that it doesn't mention what it was...

Was this her first offense? Wondering if we have a habitual issue at hand. Watch out Kroger she might be hitting your parking lot next.

I was wondering about that too-they still owe some money on that car and I doubt they will get enough to pay it off and be able to get another car to replace it-so unfortunate! It makes me so angry!

good luck angel, happened in a parking lot so your parents probably wont get jack from the insurance companies.

You sure she wasn't on some kind of medication? Doesn't sound like she was drinking, just says she was under the influence of something. Maybe the benedryl knocked her out.

This is one of the reasons why I never drive when I've been drinking! My parent's car was the burgundy car in the pictures that was almost smashed in two-they've been calling insurance companies all day trying to get a rental-that was the only car they had-but they haven't gotten ANY answers yet on if they can get one. What a terrible situation for alot of people!

Also, I dont know this person, but I would assume she had kids, grandkids and maybe great grandkids. Could you imagine how embarrsing it would be if your granny was the teeter drunk? That's tough to walk down the high school hall with...
