— A Wadesboro woman has been charged in a Friday afternoon accident with a school bus in Lee County.

Police charged Caroline Nicole Curran with failure to reduce speed and failure to maintain her lane.

A Southern Lee High School bus was headed south on U.S. 1 and attempted to make a right hand turn onto Eakes Road when a pickup truck driven by Curran rear ended the bus, police said.

The truck hit the bus and then overturned.

Curran was treated at Central Carolina Hospital and released later Friday, hospital officials said.

There were 23 children on the bus, but police said the children and the bus driver reported no injuries.

Another bus was sent to the scene to pick up the students and continue the route.

The Lee County Highway Patrol and the State Highway Patrol are investigating the accident.

That would be Southern Lee High School, not Southernly
So glad no one was seriously hurt! Still wonder how people miss those big yellow things in the road...
