RALEIGH, N.C. — A Harnett County teen was charged Friday in a wreck last month on Interstate 40 in Raleigh that killed a Cary man and backed up traffic for hours.

Anastasiya Katherine Bergeron, 18, of 100 Tweety Lane in Bunnlevel, was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.

Police said Bergeron was lost control of her 2001 Toyota sedan on eastbound I-40 near Wade Avenue on May 29 and crashed into some nearby woods.

Chase Morgan Rodgers, 20, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was pronounced dead at the scene. The former Cary High School student had graduated from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va.
