Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, on U.S. 70 Business in Garner.

— Police on Thursday charged a Raleigh man in a crash on U.S. Highway 70 Business in Garner last month that killed a woman.

Eric Adams of Raleigh was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in connection with the Aug. 17 crash.

Adams was driving a box truck on eastbound U.S. 70 Business when he hit a disabled Honda Accord sitting in the highway from behind, killing the Accord's driver, Lenae Mary Rebecca Dew of Raleigh, police said.

The truck then crossed the median into the westbound lanes, hitting a Toyota RAV 4 and a Honda Pilot, police said. Three women in those two vehicles were injured.

I couldn't agree more. To make matters worse, they put these photos online before families can be notified.

I'm not saying it was the case here, but the rule of thumb is.....if your vehicle is losing speed like the engine is no longer running, move it over to the shoulder while it's still rolling. Never stop in a lane for any reason.

I don't get why you have to show these horrific photographs. It's unnecessary and disrespectful to the victims families.
