Driver charged after woman, 63, dies in Raleigh crash

One person was killed following a two-car crash Sunday afternoon in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police on Monday identified the victim who died Sunday afternoon in a crash at the intersection of Louisburg Road and Calvary Drive.

Police said 63-year-old Kimberly Devere Orawiec was turning left onto Louisburg Road when she was struck in the intersection by a car driven by Dionitio Cristobal Rodriguez Domingo, 34, who was traveling south on Louisburg Road at about 4:40 p.m.

Both drivers were taken to WakeMed, where Orawiec died as a result of her injuries. Domingo suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Domingo is charged with failure to stop at a stop light and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Traffic detours remained in place near the crash site as officers worked to clear the scene.
