Driver charged after chase ends in Garner

Posted June 26, 2013

— A 22-year-old man was charged early Wednesday after leading authorities on a chase through Raleigh and Garner.

A Garner police spokesman said Raleigh officers requested assistance after they began chasing Marquino Ardeliss Anderson in a car they believed was stolen.

Garner police and Wake sheriff's deputies later joined in the pursuit and used stop sticks to halt the chase about 4 a.m. near the intersection of Timber and Buckingham drive.

At least one Wake County Sheriff's Office patrol car was damaged in the chase.

Anderson, of 105 Bayberry Lane, was jailed under a $150,000 secured bond on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official and fleeing and eluding arrest.

More charges are expected, authorities said.

Another winner that we will soon be paying for.....making sure he is fed, had a warm place to sleep and gets to watch all the TV he wants to while he sits on his backside.

If the car was believed to have been stolen then it would not be subject to seizure.

I think everyone needs to brush up on constitutional law. The Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits excessive bail set in pre-trial detention.

$150,000 bond?? Is there really ANY question as to why we have repeat offenders? This guy is clearly a threat to the general public. NO BOND for this kid!

  • Sweetgrl3 Jun 26, 2013

The picture says enough about this guy. It is a guy right?

Wow...I have no words for that pic.

I agree. Driving to elude police should receive the same bond and punishment as attempted murder. That kid in the other article was killed when he wiped out while running from the police. This guy was lucky he was caught before killing himself or some innocent victim.

Bond needs to be very high. We must get this driving with no lisence or revoked lisence under control!! Spped chase-that act is thumbing his nose at authority-even higher bond.

In other words, this guy needs to stay in jail!!

What was the driver's bond set to? Was the vehicle seized?
