GARNER, N.C. — A 22-year-old man was charged early Wednesday after leading authorities on a chase through Raleigh and Garner.

A Garner police spokesman said Raleigh officers requested assistance after they began chasing Marquino Ardeliss Anderson in a car they believed was stolen.

Garner police and Wake sheriff's deputies later joined in the pursuit and used stop sticks to halt the chase about 4 a.m. near the intersection of Timber and Buckingham drive.

At least one Wake County Sheriff's Office patrol car was damaged in the chase.

Anderson, of 105 Bayberry Lane, was jailed under a $150,000 secured bond on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official and fleeing and eluding arrest.

More charges are expected, authorities said.
