Driver charged, 12 injured in Duplin school bus wreck

Twelve Duplin County students were sent to the hospital Wednesday morning after a wreck involving a school bus, a representative of the sheriff's office said.

Twelve students were sent to the hospital Wednesday morning after a wreck involving a school bus in Duplin County, the Duplin County Sheriff's Office said.

The bus driver, Tina Andrews, was charged with failure to maintain lane control, deputies said. The wreck occurred on Ralph Sutton Road, near Tram Road, around 7:10 a.m.

Emergency officials said that none of the students' injuries were serious.

Twenty-five students were on the bus at the time of the wreck.
