Driver backs into, hits pedestrian
A car struck a woman walking across New Bern Avenue early Saturday, police said.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — A car struck a woman walking across New Bern Avenue early Saturday, police said.
Officers said the car was in reverse when it struck the woman at 3601 New Bern Ave. shortly after 2 a.m. The pedestrian was in a cross walk.
The woman complained of neck pain but appeared to have only minor injuries.
Police charged the driver with drunken driving.
