An intoxicated driver was arrested Wednesday evening after she was involved in an motor vehicle accident.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — An intoxicated driver was arrested Wednesday evening after she was involved in an motor vehicle accident.

The accident happened on the N.C. Highway 54 overpass above Interstate 40 at 7:54 p.m. A person in the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Eastbound lanes of N.C. Highway 54 were closed briefly as authorities removed the injured person.

Police have not released the identity of the arrested driver.
