SUV crashes into Raleigh Wendy's

— An SUV crashed into a Wendy's restaurant on New Bern Avenue in east Raleigh Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Tire marks at the scene show the vehicle jumped a curb coming off New Bern Avenue, crossed the parking lot and crashed into the front of the restaurant shortly after 5:30 p.m., police said.

No one was seriously injured.

It wasn't immediately clear how the driver lost control or whether charges would be filed.

Charges should be filed and certainly the license should be taken and not given back until the person take driving classes.

Mazdaspeed, I for one am thankful you're still with us after your accident and will pray that you continue to heal and have a complete recovery. Head injuries are no joking matter.

Uh, that's not what they had in mind when they said to "drive through!"

Good thing the employees were not on strike when this happened.

So let me get this straight....the SUV caused the accident by not having a warning label and having a higher wheelbase? Funny, the 89 f250 I drive daily has never magically jumped curbs and slammed into buildings. It even has a sticker on the sun visor staring at me in the eyes daily that warns of a higher chance of a roll over if the OPERATOR does not OPERATE it PROPERLY. Stop blaming lifeless objects for what the folks using them do. And stop blaming everyone else for someones lack of common sense. I rolled an F150 4 times end over end almost a year ago to this date due to taking my eyes off the road for a split second right before a corner. Told the officer it was my fault for taking my eyes off the road and nothing on the truck caused it. But of course, one of y'all would have told him "it was the SUV's fault." Give me a break. Im losing faith in americas population with all of these folks pushing blame onto anything other than themselves when they do wrong.

I agree with carpe. We see this far too often with SUVs.

This will continue to happen until these things are either off the road or come with a warning label.

It could have been a mechanical issue with the car, or a medical emergency with the driver. Not all accidents are caused by cell phones.
