Drive shaft smashes woman's windshield on Beltline
A woman driving on the Interstate 440 Beltline escaped injury Tuesday morning after a truck drive shaft smashed through her windshield.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — A woman driving on the Interstate 440 Beltline escaped injury Tuesday morning after a truck drive shaft smashed through her windshield.
Marie Chang was eastbound on the Beltline near Jones Franklin Road at about 10 a.m. when the drive shaft of the cement truck in front of her flew off and went through her windshield, narrowly missing her.
"I could imagine myself being killed right then and there," a shaken Chang said after the incident. "Glass was all over, and I think it was definitely the protection of God."
The incident didn't delay highway traffic.
