Drier weather coming; end of next week looking 'pretty bright'
Saturday's weather started out a little unsettled, with a scattering of showers across the Triangle and a few lightning strikes in the southern portion of the area.
Posted — UpdatedThe good news is Sunday is looking drier, and the end of next week looks even better, according to WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss.
"It'll be a pretty bright second half of the week," he said.
Scattered rain will continue through the day Saturday but should diminish by the evening. Temperatures will fall slightly this afternoon and should stay around the 50s.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy to partly sunny and milder with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Monday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a small chance for some spotty rain mainly south and east of Raleigh. Highs will be in the mid 70s.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy with some hit-or-miss showers possible, mainly in the morning. Highs will be in the lower 70s.
"We have our next cold front coming along, which should kick out our low-pressure system and also bring a small chance for a few showers," Moss said. "Once this front passes, we should see dry and pleasant weather for the remainder of the work week."
