DPAC holds lottery for $25 'Wicked' tickets

Posted January 6, 2015

— Want to score orchestra seats for $25 for "Wicked" at the DPAC? Well, show up about two hours before showtime and get your name submitted for a drawing for a limited number of seats available.

The day-of performance lottery is used for very popular shows and "Wicked" definitely qualifies. The lottery, which is only in-person at the DPAC box office, will give those selected a chance to purchase up to two tickets for $25 each. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting an entry form and to purchase tickets, if chosen.

Full-priced tickets for "Wicked," which runs Jan. 7-25 at the DPAC, are still available.

You couldn't pay me to go until they can convince me I won't have to deal with demonstraors blocking traffic or near the venue.

My wife enjoyed it, of coarse she had an armed personal escort to and from the venue.

Should make a night out of it- go on a weeknight when the crowds might be smaller, your chances could go up. Go to dinner and make an evening out of it. Worth the try. Good luck!!

Has anyone ever gone and tried this lottery at DPAC? I would love love love to see Wicked, but just cannot afford the full price ticket. I live a ways away, so would be willing to drive over if I thought I had a real chance at the lottery option.
