DPAC adds Saturday matinee to 'Grinch'

Thanks to hefty ticket sales, the Durham Performing Arts Center has added a new show to its run of "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical."

The show runs Nov. 29 to Dec. 4 as part of the Encore Broadway at DPAC series. The new show is 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3. Tickets start at at $40. More information is on DPAC's website.

The show broke box office records for two consecutive years on Broadway. So far, more than 1.2 million theater-goers across the country have taken in the holiday musical. The show includes songs like "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas" from the animated TV classic.

DPAC also will present its first ever sensory-friendly show with a special presentation of "Grinch" at 11 a.m., Dec. 3.
