Downed utility pole closes Franklin Street

— East Franklin Street was closed for a few hours Tuesday after a vehicle knocked down a utility pole, police said.

The street was closed to through traffic between Boundary Avenue and Glendale Drive from noon to about 4 p.m., allowing crews to replace the downed pole.

Police said the one-car wreck caused no serious injuries. The incident remains under investigation.

    I work right near Park Place. This same thing happens several times a year because people are driving too fast on that winding part of the road. First you hear the sirens, then you get to see the diverted traffic, and if you're lucky...you don't lose power. I'm glad no one was hurt this time.

    What a strange little article- it states in past tense that the street was closed til 2pm on Tuesday but, as I write this comment, it's now only 12:30pm Tuesday. Weird.
