Downed power pole blocks Raleigh road
Dawson Street in Raleigh was reduced to one lane from Davie to Cabarrus streets late Thursday due to a downed power pole, Raleigh police said.

A single-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Dawson and Cabarrus streets caused the pole to fall.
The driver was taken to a local hospital to be treated. Police said that alcohol was a factor in the wreck, and they plan to charge the driver once he is released from the hospital.
Power was restored to the area by Friday morning.
