RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Department of Transportation said it is suspending most road construction activities for the Easter weekend to help ease traffic delays and make driving conditions easier.

Work along most interstate and U.S. routes across the state will be suspended from 4 p.m., Thursday until 9 a.m. Monday.

One of two lanes on northbound I-85 from mile markers 206 to 214 in Vance County will be closed, however, as crews prepare for a paving project.

In Guilford County, one of three lanes will be closed on both I-85 North and South at the interchange with N.C. Highway 62 at Exit 113 due to construction of the U.S. Highway 311 Bypass.
