Raleigh, N.C. — Officials have announced a summer concert series that will begin this year on the grounds at Dorothea Dix Park.
The new series, which is scheduled to be held on Saturdays, will feature free, live music from local bands and artists, food trucks and local breweries.
The concerts, organized by Deep South Entertainment, will replace organization's "Oak City 7" and the "Pickin’ In The Plaza" series that were held in City Plaza in downtown Raleigh in 2016.
"Although Oak City 7 and Pickin’ In the Plaza were well received, we believe the entertainment demands of downtown have progressed and the needs for the community are different than they were when we started," said Dave Rose, the president of Deep South Entertainment. "As we enter a new chapter of our maturing downtown, we agree it’s time to change our focus on the entertainment that surrounds it."
Organizers at Deep South said more information regarding dates, performers and events for the series will be released in months to come.
