— Heading out to celebrate New Year's Eve? If you plan to drink, let someone else drive you home. It's not worth comprising your safety and the safety of others.

Here a few local options to consider:

Safe Ride Home NC (Call or text 919-520-4496) - This service can be booked in advance online or by phone. They will even drive your car home. Prices are also the same all year round - no surge pricing on NYE.

Uber - This app allows you to order up a driver to bring you home from anywhere in the Triangle. Download the app to your smartphone in advance, set up your payment info and you will be just one click away from securing a safe ride. Prices are based on what type of vehicle you request and how far you need to travel. Note: Prices do go up on holidays like New Year's Eve. Expect a surge in prices tonight.

Lyft - Similar to Uber, this is an app that picks you up anywhere in the Triangle area. Raleigh Rickshaw (Call or text 919-623-5555) - This company offers pedal cab rides to accommodate two adults. The service is ideal for bar-hopping within downtown Raleigh, or for trips home to the five surrounding historic neighborhoods. Rickshaw drivers work for tips and there is base price for a ride.

Crank Arm Rickshaw (Call 919-995-5561) - This company offers pedal cab rides for up to two adults. The service is ideal for bar-hopping within downtown Raleigh, or for trips home to the five surrounding historic neighborhoods. Rickshaw drivers work for tips and there is base price for a ride.

Note: "Tipsy Tow" and similar options are popping up on the internet. The service used to be offered by some states in affiliation with AAA auto club but isn't anymore. Always check services out before booking.

    Get your first ride free/discounted up to $20! I get a free ride for sharing this, but I'd rather know someone got a free or sharply discounted safe ride home tonight. Even if not free, it is cheaper than any DWI or accident. https://www.uber.com/invite/jtw2vvthue
