CARY, N.C. — Cary police are searching for a suspect in a domestic dispute who they say clipped a police cruiser and ran after wrecking his car early Wednesday.

A woman called 911 about a domestic dispute taking place in the parking lot of shopping center on North Harrison Avenue around 1:15 a.m., police said. When officers arrived, the suspect initially stopped, but then sped up and clipped an officer's cruiser on his way out of the parking lot.

Shortly after, an officer on patrol found the suspect's car, which had Florida license plates, wrecked at Chapel Hill and Adams streets. Police said the car was still running, but the occupants had fled.

Police are still searching for them.

The damage to the police cruiser was minor, and no one was injured, police said.
