Dolphin bitten by shark washes ashore at Kure Beach
A dolphin died after it was bitten by a shark and washed ashore in Kure Beach Friday morning.

KURE BEACH, N.C. — A dolphin died after it was bitten by a shark and washed ashore in Kure Beach Friday morning.
A professor at UNC-Wilmington said the adult male had several bites, including one to the tail that looked rather deep.
People on the beach covered the dolphin with towels and brought water to him before officials arrived. Despite their efforts, the dolphin died from his injuries.
