Dogs maul, kill woman in Robeson County
A group of dogs attacked and killed a woman at a Pembroke home Tuesday afternoon, according to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
Posted — UpdatedPEMBROKE, N.C. — A group of dogs attacked and killed a woman at a Pembroke home Tuesday afternoon, according to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
The woman, whose name was not released, was staying at 17 Sharon Lane, where the homeowner rescues animals. Around 12:30 p.m., several dogs began fighting each other. The victim tried to break up the fight with a rake, but the dogs turned on her – tearing off her clothes and mangling her body.
She was dead when deputies arrived at the scene.
Several of the dogs were seized by Robeson County Animal Control and impounded.
The death is under investigation.
