Do you have any frugal plans for the July 4th holiday weekend? Are there any favorite frugal recipes you will be making? Share your holiday happenings here!

We are going to watch my daughter in one of the local July 4th parades and then we will be cooking out Friday evening. We'll be having grilled hot dogs (on sale of course), watermelon (also on sale), pasta salad (free pasta) and a red, white and blue triffle with pound cake, cool whip and blueberries and strawberries (berries on sale this week and pound cake bought with coupon during HT super doubles).

We will probably end the evening by watching the free fireworks in our little town. How will you be celebrating the July 4th holiday?

We will be doing our annual picking of the blackberries from the nearby wood line, then coming home to make blackberry cobbler, blackberry ice cream or blackberry smoothies. Tips: Pick early before it gets too hot, wear long pants, hat and bug spray. Wash berries as soon as you get home, sometimes they have ants. Be careful of poison ivy.
