Disney's The Lion King opened this week for a long, five-week run at the Durham Performing Arts Center, but you better get on it if you want to get some tickets.

Already, there are not many tickets left for shows in February and on March weekends. You'll find better availability for weeknight performances next month. Tickets start at $33 plus taxes and fees (and you can be sure that those cheaper seats are going to go more quickly than others).

The acclaimed, award-winning show based on the 1994 animated Disney classic returns to Durham after having played more than 70 cities across North America. I hear that it is absolutely spectacular. I'm so excited to see it with my family this weekend!

The show plays Monday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m.; Friday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m.; Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday matinees at 2 p.m.; and Sunday matinees at 1 p.m. There also is an additional performance on Thursday, March 17 at 1 p.m.
