Matilda stops in Raleigh from May 23 to May 28
N.C. Theatre is bringing "Matilda the Musical," based on the classic novel by Roald Dahl, to Raleigh this week (if you haven't noticed the advertising wrap round the Go Ask Mom page in recent weeks)!

The show runs Tuesday to Sunday at Memorial Hall at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. It's is the winner of 50 international awards, including four Tony Awards, and has been a hit on Broadway. The quick synopsis: "'Matilda' is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny."

I'm excited to share a couple of things:

First, we have a Memorial Day weekend discount. Get 30 percent off tickets in price levels 2, 3 and 4, only, for these four shows:

  • Friday, May 26, 7:30PM
  • Saturday, May 27th 7:30PM
  • Sunday May 28th 2:00PM
  • Sunday, May 28th 7:30PM
To get the discount, use offer code STARSANDSTRIPES when you buy your tickets on Ticketmaster or call the N.C. Theatre's box office at 919-831-6941, ext. 6944. The offer expires at 8 a.m., May 26.
The N.C. Theatre also will bring another family-friendly show to the stage this summer - Beauty and the Beast in July. N.C. Theatre is offering a ticket bundle for both Matilda and Beauty and the Beast for $79.
Also, be sure to head over to Go Ask Mom's Facebook page around 6 p.m., Wednesday, to check out a Facebook Live video with Jennifer Bowles, who stars as Miss Honey in the show. Jennifer has performed on Broadway and in New York theatre as “Irma” in Irma La Douce (Encores!), Matilda and American Idiot.
