Diaper drive a big draw at Raleigh beer fest

Posted April 5

— Beer lovers turned diaper donors Saturday at the annual World Beer Festival in Raleigh's Moore Square.

The annual event {{ahref="blogpost-13472156"}}showcases dozens of breweries and hundreds of beers{{/a}} and always draws a crowd. This year, those who brought a donation for the Raleigh Diaper Train could skip the line and get right to the tasting.

TriMark Digital set up a "Do Your Dootie" collection table, allowing anyone who brought a package of unopened diapers to get expedited entrance to the festival. A representative called the turnout "mind-blowing" and "amazing." TriMark shared video of volunteers packing a van with donated diapers.

Donate: Raleigh Diaper Drive

Raleigh Diaper Train works with churches, businesses and schools to collect diapers, baby wipes and children's books and distribute them to needy families.

The World Beer Festival is one of dozens of beer-themed events across the state to mark NC Beer Month.

You sound concerned and like you need a tissue.

I applaud the Raleigh Diaper Train for giving a helping hand to those that need it the most; the babies and children. A lot of these comments are pathetically sad. Instead of praising the people instrumental in bringing this together to help those IN NEED it's turned into a finger pointing fest of politics, stereotyping racism, and government welfare. Nowhere in this story was there any mention of a political group behind the drive or those rallying for welfare recipients. It specifically states teaming up with churches, businesses, and schools to help those that obviously need it. I have not and hope to not ever be on governmental assistance. Yet I know better than to blindly talk down on someone and their position because I never know if or when I'll be in their shoes. Stop being so incredibly negative and naïve. It's a feel good type of story. Too bad that didn't reflect similarly in the comment section.

Now ANYONE who wants to free our overcrowded prisons of non violent, victimless crimes "needs chemicals". LOL only in INDYland when the average IQ is .420

INDY is probably a caffeine addict. I know chemical abusers when they type. They cannot comprehend possession from consumption.

How sad that you need a chemical to feel good. I feel sorry for you and hope you find something in your life that will stop you from being dependent on chemicals for happiness. The need for chemicals to make you feel good says more about your life than anything.
