Detroit police officer injured in a hit and run crash

DETROIT, MI — A Detroit police officer is hurt in a hit-and-run crash. It happened just after midnight Friday morning on the city's east side.
Published reports say two cars were chasing each other when one crashed into the officer's cruiser. Police say the driver pointed a gun at the officer, who fired two shots back. The suspect was not hit, and after running was arrested a few blocks away.
The officer is in the hospital with a head injury; it's not considered life threatening. Police are still searching for the second car involved.
