Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives arrested a Fayetteville man over the weekend and charged him with taking indecent liberties with a 14-year-old girl.

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives arrested a Fayetteville man over the weekend and charged him with taking indecent liberties with a 14-year-old girl late last year.

Brandon Cady, 36, of 1925 Lass St., faces statutory rape charges, authorities said. <br />

Investigators say Cady and the girl engaged in inappropriate behavior on Dec. 13 at the home of a female friend of the girl.  The girl was spending the night with her friend when the encounter occurred, authorities said.

Detectives released Cady from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $35,000 secured bond.

He was scheduled to make a first court appearance at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the detention center courtroom.
