Destination: Rise Biscuits and Donuts at Park West Village
Rise is spreading the doughnut and biscuit love with new shops popping up across the Triangle.
Posted — UpdatedRise specializes in melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts and flaky, buttery biscuits stuffed with all sorts of creative fillings and toppings.
There are old-school doughnut favorites like chocolate glazed and cinnamon twist. Then there's the Cronie, maple bacon bar, cookie dough bulls' eye and a doughnut topped with Fruity Pebbles. Biscuits come plain or with items such as eggs, cheese, breakfast meats and fried eggplant "bacon."
It's really yummy. And it's a great place for a casual breakfast, lunch or snack with kids. The new spot at Park West Village includes a giant chalkboard that kids can mark up and make pictures as you wait for your order.
There is a bit of seating inside. Outside, there's a collection of tables on a concrete patio along with an area where kids can play or run some of that sugar off before you go.
Bonus: It can be a cheap excursion.
Doughnuts range in price between about $1 and $2.50. For young children, the shop offers smaller doughnuts in a couple of flavors. (My six-year-old would really love for the Morrisville shop to add a regular-sized chocolate glazed with sprinkles. When we were there, there was only a kid-sized version of her favorite).
Biscuit prices range from $1.35 for a plain one to $5.75 for one with country fried steak.
Rise is at 1100 Market Center Dr. in Morrisville. It's open daily.
