Quail Ridge Books & Music in Raleigh has a big week ahead for teen and children's audience.
First up is New York Times-bestselling author Sarah Dessen, who stops by at 7 p.m., Wednesday, with her new book "The Moon and More." The coming-of-age story follows Emaline, who will have a summer she'll never forget before she heads off to college, according to a Quail Ridge description. The event includes a special cake, along with a drawing for a $10 gift card.

To enter the drawing, each purchase of one of Dessen's books gets a special card stamped. Once you have three stamps, you'll be entered into the drawing. A purchase of "The Moon and More" counts as two stamps. This is a signing line event, which means you must purchase Dessen's new book from Quail Ridge to get in the line. The book and event is best for ages 12 and up.

Dessen, who lives in Chapel Hill, is hugely popular. I know this will be a big event at Quail Ridge (so plan accordingly).
And Weird Al Yankovic will be at the book store at 7 p.m., Friday, with his new children's book "My New Teacher and Me." We all know Weird Al from his song parodies, but he also is a children's book author. His first one, "When I Grow Up," was a bestseller. The new picture books continues the adventures of Billy from the first one.

Weird Al will be signing books and meeting and chatting with fans. Photos are fine. You can get a ticket for the signing line with the purchase of "My New Teacher and Me" from Quail Ridge. You can pre-order the book from the store so you can have an earlier line ticket.
