Deputy injured in Wilson County wreck

Posted June 20, 2010

— A Wilson County sheriff’s deputy was injured in a single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon, according to the state Highway Patrol.

The deputy was responding to a call just after 3 p.m. when he lost control of the car and crashed at 738 Piney Grove Church Road, near Saratoga.

Paramedics transported the deputy to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.

More details, including the identity and condition of the deputy, haven't been released.

Can't believe these comments...seriously! whatever happened to asking if he is ok? would have been nice before you decide to bash him. The article gives no facts. Even the best trained drivers can lose control. Could have been a medical condition that caused this? I just hope the deputy is ok and glad no one suffered severe injuries!

Journey, gandalla... Before you two start jumping the gun, how about you wait and hear the facts first.. here you go again journey you always have to bash the ones that are serving and protecting you, how do you know that a deer didn't jump out in front of him, or come in through the windshield, or how do you know that a tire blew on the vehicle causing him to wreck... So until you know the facts stop cop bashing because you have some problems with police officers... I'm pretty sure if you wouldn't have been doing whatever it is you were doing the cops would have never gave you that ticket or arrestted you.. **and also for the record didisaythat is right, and they are cited for other things, but the reasoning for them being cited he is right!! so you need to get your facts right!!

Actually didisaytaht, drivers involved in single car accidents are often cited for speeding, careless & wreckless etc. So please check your facts.

I agree gandalla, I also hope he is ok. You know, for people with increased driving training, you would think we would not be hearing about so many wrecks??? Perhaps the training needs to be re-evaluated??

Why do you want him cited? No one else would be cited. Most that get cited in an accident is to make sure insurance covers the damage. The person cited shows the DA that insurance payed and the citation is dismissed. Thanks for hating the people that protect you.
