Deputies seize 60 marijuana plants from Littleton home

A Littleton man is facing drug charges after sheriff's deputies said they seized more than 60 marijuana plants from his home.

LITTLETON, N.C. — A Littleton man is facing drug charges after sheriff’s deputies said they seized more than 60 marijuana plants from his home.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that deputies went to a home on Airlie Road to investigate a drug complaint. They returned later with a search warrant and seized the plants, smoking pipes, marijuana seeds and rolling papers.

Rueman Mondell Newman, 63, was charged with manufacture marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the Halifax County Detention Center on a $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 28.
