Deputies seize $2.1M worth of marijuana from Moore County home
An Asherboro man was arrested on Tuesday in Moore County after authorities found more than $2 million worth of marijuana growing at a residence.

The Moore County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 719 Bellview Road, Robbins as part of a larceny of power investigation. When deputies arrived, they found a large-scale indoor marijuana growing operation.
Deputies seized 109 marijuana plants, growing lights, fan, fertilizer and other equipment used to grow the plants. The total weight of the marijuana seized was 606 pounds.
Authorities said the street value of the marijuana was roughly $2.1 million.
Jose Ginante Aliaga, 25, was arrested and charged with trafficking of marijuana, manufacturing of marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling to store a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony larceny and property damage, according to the sheriff's office. Aliaga was jailed under a $200,000 secure bond.
"This was the most sophisticated indoor growing operation that deputies have ever found in Moore County," Sheriff Neil Godfrey said in a news release.
