Officials in Franklin County are searching for a man who jumped from a car and ran during a police pursuit Wednesday morning.

<b>ST. CLAIR, MO</b> — Officials in Franklin County are searching for a man who jumped from a car and ran during a police pursuit Wednesday morning.

A Lexus reported stolen from the West County Volvo Dealership on Manchester Road earlier in the morning was seen driving along the service road near West Springfield around 8 a.m. An official in an unmarked police vehicle spotted the stolen vehicle and started following it.

During the pursuit, the driver flipped the car and then jumped out of it "like a deer" and took off, Franklin County Sheriff's officials said.

Detectives from Manchester are en route to Franklin County to gather more details regarding the incident.
