An 18-year-old was pulled from the Cape Fear River late Friday after the boat he was in got stuck due to quick-moving water, N.C. Wildlife officials said.
The boat got stuck as a family was trying to maneuver three small boats from the Chatham County side of the river to the Lee County side, officials said.
The 18-year-old's mother and father were also impacted by the quick-moving water, but were able to return to the river bank unharmed. The 18-year-old was pulled from the river by three N.C. Wildlife officials. He was treated and released at the scene.
Officials did not release the name of the 18-year-old or his parents.
