Deputies probe shooting at Falls Lake

— The Wake County Sheriff's Office was investigating a shooting at Falls Lake State Park Monday.

Deputies responded to the scene at the park's Beaver Dam entrance, 15000 Creedmoor Road, around 4:30 p.m.

Park officials said the deceased person was found in a picnic area.

Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.

    Don't jump to concusions. I knew a guy who drove to a park, got out of his car, sat at a picnic table, and shot himself in the head.

    Im with you domotamasi, if you are a law abiding citizen and have been through the ccw(concealed to carry weapon) class, then you should be allowed to carry in to places like a state park and what not. The only places that you shouldn't be allowed to carry it is to schools and federal buildings(banks, gov't offices)

    Since law abiding citizens would not break the law by carrying a gun in a State Park, we would be defenseless anyway. Permit or no...........I for one am in favor of changing the laws on posession of firearms by law abiding citizens in state and national parks.
