GARNER, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies said Kenneth Elliot Stagg Jr. and Samuel Michael Dimartino, of 5918 Bowling Drive, were involved in an altercation when Dimartino shot Stagg in the 5800 block of Woodcrest Drive.

Deputies said Stagg drove several streets away after the incident before getting out and calling for help.

Stagg, 25, of Raleigh, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies were still investigating what led to the altercation and have not said what charges may be filed in the case.
