— Sheriff's deputies accused a Fayetteville man of shooting seven times into a house occupied by his ex-girlfriend Thursday morning.

Detectives said that Trevor Gerard McKinnon, 27, fired from a handgun into a home at 2236 Caramel Drive around 8:30 a.m. McKinnon's ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend were in the home, but neither one was injured, authorities said.

Neighbors reported the gunfire, and deputies responded and quickly apprehended McKinnon. Deputies found a handgun under the driver's seat of his blue Ford Contour.

McKinnon was charged with felony discharging a barreled weapon or firearm into an occupied dwelling. He was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $1,000 unsecured bond.

His first court date was set for Friday, Oct. 24.

Maybe she did have blonde hair and blue eyes, nothing says what her race was... So how do you see race as a factor in what was written? The ISSUE is that he is on the streets after shooting into an occupied building knowing there was someone in it and should have been held without bond until after his hearing...and then put BACK in jail because he is a danger to society!!! (Sounds like a HATE CRIME, he hates that his old girlfriend has a new beau.)

I am sorry peoples. This is so wrong on so many levels that this man got $1000 bond. If ever race played a factor, this is it. I GUARANTEE IF HE HAD SHOT AT SOME BLONDE HAIR BLUE EYED LADY, he wouuld be too through!!

Released on $1,000 bond so that he can go try again to committ murder, what in the world was the judge thingking??????? He knew the house was occupied. This wasn't attempted murder because WHY? He didn't hit his target or harm anyone??? He should be still in prison....
