Deputies investigate possible murder-suicide in Wilson County

Posted November 29, 2010

— Wilson County deputies found two people dead inside the pool house at a Lucama residence Sunday morning in what authorities said Monday could be a murder-suicide.

Neighbors called authorities Sunday to report that a red Honda CRV parked in the yard at 8235 Spring Hill Church Road didn't belong there.

When deputies arrived, shortly before 10 a.m., they found Robert Laythe, 47, of Wisconsin and Angela Miller, 46, of Bridgers Street in Morehead City, dead inside the pool house.

Authorities said Laythe's family owns the residence.

Investigators said both people were dead of gunshot wounds, but it was not clear who fired the shots.

Oh, and one other thing, where in the story does it say a gun was used???

Just because you "can't fathom it", doesn't mean it isn't possible...I can't fathom someone wanting to smoke crack cocaine and sell their bodies to support the habit, but people do it everyday...

Winston....Two suicides by friends, lovers, spouses, etc is not uncommon. Even by groups of friends or religious fanatics. Remember the group that was sure aliens were coming in their space-craft and they all killed themselves? How about Waco, Tx. where lots of people killed themselves before "being slautered" by FBI and Police agents? At least they believed that is what was to happen. Uncommon....not at all

My condolences to the families. May God continue to be with all of you.

See there are certain people that don't need loaded guns in their homes. No loaded guns and these tragedies would not continue to happen.

    Actually, carolinabluegrass fan...

I like my idea way better. I can't even fathom watching someone go before me like that.

    Actually, Rockermom...

One could have used the weapon while the other watched, then the second could have used it. I agree with Winston that a double-suicide is rare, but it does happen under certain circumstances.

There would have to be more than one weapon...ok, on the count of 3...

  • Winston Nov 29, 2010

    Isn't 2 suicides rare vs a murder-suicide?
