The _News and Observer_ has more information. Apparently Smith called 911 himself after he shot her.

I went to Millbrook in 10th grade and was bussed to Enloe for 11th and 12th. I had a couple of classes at Enloe with Terry. She has a website: http://www.forevermoremusic.com/ArtistsProfile/TerriGore/tabid/93/Default.aspx

    Mr. French

I couldn't remember if Terry was younger or older than Jackie, I may have met her once or twice. I remember the school year of 77/78 was when they redrew the school district and people on the east side of Capitol (back then, North Blvd) went to Enloe. Jackie got to stay at Millbrook because she was a senior.

No doubt I confused which sister was singing with her dad. I'm also sorry to see that this story has fallen off of the front page, the man arrested had a court date yesterday. I looked for an obituary in the N&O, but there wasn't one today. This has got to be horrible for the family.

Looks like this story has fallen off of the front pages.

I knew both Jackie and her younger sister Terry. Besides her dad, Terry is the singer in the family. I was in between the ages of the two. They grew up in Starmount. We all went to Vena Wilburn and Terry and I went to Enloe. Their mother used to work at my doctor's office and gave me plenty of shots when I was a kid.

Although I never met the dad, Larue, Jackie, and Terry were all VERY nice people. I'm very sad for them all.

Mr. French, if you went to Millbrook, Jackie was in the class of 78. She was a very nice girl. I haven't seen her in years. I thought for awhile she was singing with her dad and The Embers. It's amazing how quickly time flies past. What a horrible tragedy. Godspeed Jackie.

Jackie was such a sweet woman. It has been years since I've seen her, or her boys. She was always called "Aunt Jackie" around my house. My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family.

This was near Wake Forest, not in Wake Forest. The giveaway is that the Sheriff's Office is investigating. It is actually closer to the Wakefield portion of Raleigh than to Wake Forest.

I think it's time citizens man up and take out the criminals ourselves!

Prayers to Jackie Gore and his family, so sad.

I think I went to school with Jackie. Is she the daughter of Jackie Gore and his former wife, Larue?

If so, she was a very nice person. I haven't seen her in years, but I remember her kindess. Very sad.

If anyone would have told me Lester could do this, I would have told them they were crazy. I still can't believe it.
Praying for the families of Jackie and Lester.
