Deputies: Garner woman crashes into nightclub
A Garner woman deliberately crashed into a nightclub outside Fuquay-Varina early Thursday after being refused a drink, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedWake County sheriff's deputies said that workers at Mama Rabbit's Motor Lounge, 7304 N.C. Highway 55, refused to serve Crystal Dawn Barr, 35, so she said she was going to hit the building.
Barr drove her car into a picnic table and a column on the building, striking two people, deputies said. She backed out of the parking lot, hitting another vehicle before driving away, deputies said.
A few minutes later, she ran off N.C. Highway 50, near Pierce Road, and struck a tree, state troopers said.
Barr assaulted rescue squad members and a deputy at the wreck scene and then a doctor at Johnston Memorial Hospital, troopers said. Barr and the assault victims are expected to be OK.
The people struck outside the nightclub suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Barr has been charged with driving while impaired and reckless driving. Troopers expected to file more charges.
