WENDELL, N.C. — A Johnston County man wanted on a child support violation was arrested last week after deputies found him hiding in a dishwasher, authorities said Wednesday.

Deputies got a tip on Oct. 24 that Donald Robert Price Jr. was at his home on N.C. Highway 231 in Wendell, but they didn't find him in an initial search of the house, authorities said. A more thorough search led to the discovery of his hiding place in the dishwasher.

Price, 41, was served with an outstanding child support warrant and was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license and failing to heed to a blue light or siren. The latter charges stem from an Oct. 9 incident in which a car allegedly driven by Price sped away from a deputy during an attempted traffic stop, authorities said.
